| Barbara J. Davis
Barbara has been in the lending industry or a related field for over 30 years. She has
been a mortgage broker since 1983, opening her own company in 1985 and subsequently
selling it in 1999. She served as VP of Marketing for Community Mortgage, Keizer,
Oregon from 10/1/99 3/14/03. She currently is the managing broker for Reliance
Mortgage LLC.
Barbara has played an active role statewide and nationally in numerous industry related
issues since 1989. This includes 2 years working with FHLMC's national UNBOG committee, numerous Washington DC trips meeting with various legislators and or
industry leaders. She has worked with the National Association of Mortgage Brokers
regarding needed changes in RESP A and TILA, as well as other political issues.
Barbara has participated in state licensing issues since their inception and currently is
Vice-Chair of the newly created state authorized Mortgage Lender Education Board.
This non- profit entity has been charged with the responsibility of certifying the required
mortgage broker education courses and their presenters.
She is the past president of the OAMB having held the position for two consecutive years, and been a board of director for the OMLA and the Oregon Association of Realtors. She has received NAMB's President's Award of Merit, been SAR's Affiliate of the year, OAMB's Broker of the year two different years, and received the OMLA's Hank Crawford award.
A lifelong goal, Barbara was awarded her BS in Business Administration from Kennedy
Western University in 1999. She has written numerous articles and spoken throughout the country on various industry topics. She is a published poet and has written a detailed research paper on predatory lending which was published by the OAMB.
When not involved with her business endeavors Barbara turns to her "Life Book of
Things to Do." Born in Germany she has retained her love for travel having been to
numerous foreign countries, including China, Australia, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico,
Belize, and a dozen European countries. She has visited every state in the country including, Alaska which she visited in September 2002. She has gone white water rafting, hot air ballooning, flown a glider, driven a large moving van from Oregon to
Colorado and mastered a track hoe. An antiques enthusiast and avid reader, known for
her twisted sense of humor, one of Barbara's all time favorite things is to spend time with
friends, her daughter Summer and husband Robert.
